My name is Merl. I chose to write this blog in English so I can share my Filipino roots and my perspective in life with a wider audience.
LutongPinoy started as a reflection of my love for Filipino food in my 20s. As I grew older, I realized it is more than just a passion—it is a part of who I am. It reminds me of my parents, grandparents, and relatives, and how they lovingly served different Filipino dishes when I was young.
Through this blog, I hope to gather the recipes I cherished during my childhood and share the food that has been part of my journey. Not everything here may be strictly traditional Filipino cuisine, but to me, it will always be Lutong Pinoy—because it is, after all, cooked by a Filipino.
